Online Marketing & Fundraising Workshop for Nonprofit Organizations

Filed under Branding, How To, Marketing, NonProfits, Social Media, Workshops |

Solid online marketing strategies can help nonprofit organizations enhance visibility, raise awareness for campaigns, rally advocates and supporters, and recruit volunteers and members…opening opportunities to recruit donors online. The key to making your organization’s overall marketing and fundraising effort successful is to integrate your offline and online activities into a holistic interactive strategy, so they complement and support one another.

Grace Rodriguez of AYN Brand presented the following workshop for the Houston Arts Alliance “National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP)” education and training series, to help nonprofit boards, staff and volunteers explore online tactics they can immediately implement:

In addition to presenting 40 things you can do this week to start connecting with audiences, members, volunteers and potential donors, this workshop features five fundamental steps to developing a successful online strategy:

  1. Clearly define your goal, objectives, and how you’ll measure success.
  2. Research potential allies, target audience demographics, and resources.
  3. Develop and structure your team, systems and procedures, and tools.
  4. Engage: Join the conversation. Listen, respond, and call people to act.
  5. Evaluate your results against your metrics and refine your strategy.

  1. How *not* to win an online campaign : Pt I : grace Says:

[...] What do a website, a blog, an email newsletter, a Twitter account, and a Facebook Fan Page have in common? None of them are a strategy. They, along with all other social media, are simply tools to establish an online presence…which is not a strategy either. An online strategy involves knowing who your stakeholders and audience are, deciding what you want to achieve with and through them, and crafting how to best leverage the resources you have to get the results you want.
