In our social media workshops and discussions, we find that people’s attitudes towards social media tend to fall into one of three categories:
- You’ve heard about social media, but don’t know what it is, exactly.
- You love it and don’t know how you managed without it in the first place.
- You dismiss it.
The third attitude stems from a variety of issues. Maybe you think it’s over your head because you’re “not a techie” person. Maybe you think it’s “just for kids.” Maybe you think it’s only a passing fad. But it’s not. Social media is a fundamental change in how we communicate. It’s multi-directional. Everywhere. All the time.
