Have you learned alot about your industry, found out “what will do” for your business or organization, and made interesting discoveries along the way? Then consider sharing your knowledge and expertise with others going down the same path: it’s one of the best methods of branding yourself as an authority in your industry, and can be a way to reach out to new prospects.

Whether you decide to teach a workshop or seminar, or simply gather and present lessons you’ve learned, SlideShare can help you reach a broader audience than the one sitting in any room. Slideshare is a Web site that allows you to upload presentations (with or without audio) and share them with your social networks, from your in-site network to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and your blog subscribers. The more you share, the more you position yourself as a valuable resource for your industry and subject matter…and the more people return to you for, well, “more.”

And, as with most online content, the more value you add to your presentation, the more likely it is to be found and shared by Web denizens. AYN Brand President Grace Rodriguez taught a Branding 2.0 workshop for Diverseworks’ DW2 Creative Capital group and posted the presentation online for the artists to refer back to and for everyone to access. Within two weeks, it has received 1423 views, 23 “favorites,” 5 embeds, and 18 requests to download. We’ve received messages like the following:
